As the house is located near the ocean, the clients found their wooden door had rotted and was so badly damaged that it could not be opened any longer. Okran61 replaced the rotten wooden door with an aluminium door to prevent future damage.
Okran61 built and installed the kitchen cupboards to the client’s specifications. Granite countertops were also installed for longevity.
One of Okran61’s house renovations. The renovations done include paving, replacing of all windows, kitchen remodel, bathroom remodel, a new garage addition, and two big wooden gates built and installed in front of and behind the house.
A complete bathroom remodel done by Okran61. All the walls had to be skimmed and retiled. Since the house is located near the ocean, all the copper pipes were damaged and were replaced by SABS standard pipes. The shower head and glass panels were cleaned, fixed up and reused since they were still in relatively good condition. If you look out the bathroom door, you see a room with a wooden floor that Okran61 also installed. The walls of this room were also skimmed and repainted, and the ceiling skirtings were replaced to fit with that of the rest of the house.
Here you can see one of the concrete trucks used to throw the raft foundation for a new house built by Okran61 from the ground up. Other than this concrete truck, there was also a pump truck used to quickly and efficiently help get the wet concrete to all the spots it needed to be. The pump truck was essential because the specific concrete mix dries very quickly. After the concrete was poured, another machine was used to remove bubbles from the concrete so that it could become compacted and strong.
Here you see a remodeled Kitchen done by Okran61. All of the kitchen cabinetry were replaced with new built-ins, hinges, runners and handles. The original bottom cupboard doors were reused. New plumbing fittings and a new windowsill were installed. The sink and countertops were also replaced and the original lighting was replaced by downlighters. Okran61 added gas lines for a future planned gas stove as well.
In this photo Okran61 is busy with the casing for concrete beams that had to be cast for another house built on sand dunes. The entire house was built by Okran61 from start to finish in a fairly tricky environment.
This is a complete kitchen renovation done by Okran61. However, the kitchen is not the only project done on this house. In reality, the entire house was renovated by Okran61. Renovations included the kitchen, new bathrooms, demolition of a number of indoor walls, new ceilings, new lighting and electrical wiring, new plumbing, new gas appliances, new aluminium doors, a complete retile and repaint of the entire house, and new paving outside. New additions to the house included a Garage and a flat.
Here you can see the beautiful tiling done in the previously-mentioned renovated house.
Here Okran61 designed and installed new cupboards according to the client`s specifications. Additionally, the walls were repainted, the ceilings were fixed and new carpets were installed. Special care was taken to match the new skirtings to those in the rest of the house.
This is a wooden deck redone by Okran61. This deck was a huge safety risk as some of the important structural parts had rotted due to the fact that the house is located on the beach and in the ocean spraying zone. The house´s location means that the structure is always exposed to harsh natural elements such as moist ocean air and wind. Therefore, extra care had to be taken to protect the structure from the elements and in doing so, lengthening the lifespan of the new structure. The wooden structure was fixed and partially replaced where it could not be saved. The entire deck was treated with protective products, and all existing bolts and screws were replaced with new strong steel bolts and screws.
Beautiful bathroom renovation. This project was unique because the house was over 100 years old! The age of the house meant that the work was often complex and sensitive. The tiles were carefully lifted, cleaned and reused, a beautiful recycled sink was installed, a new countertop was added, and the original plumbing hardware was removed, fixed and refitted. Additionally, a new modern toilet was built in and all the walls were repainted. An interesting feature in this bathroom was a tiny fireplace that used to keep the bathroom warm in the olden days.
Aesthetically unique house renovated by Okran61. On the left side of the photo you can see the braai room addition built by Okran. A new wooden deck was also built, the roof was replaced, and new doors and windows were installed.
Here is another house renovation and addition done by Okran61. Only the middle section of the house used to exist. The room from which the photo was taken, the braai room visible in the back and a new double garage were all new additions to the house. Other than the new additions, the ceilings, tiles, lighting and electrical wiring of the existing house were replaced, the bathrooms were renovated and the kitchen was redone.
A neat and modern bathroom renovation. The bath was removed, cleaned, fixed, polished, buffed and refitted into the bathroom. New plumbing hardware was installed to give the bathroom a nice finish. New glass panels were installed in the window frames. The window has a film in between the two glass panes which makes it smooth and easy to clean on both the inside and outside of the house. This new type of window is especially nice to use when the house is located near the ocean.
A beautiful indoor built-in braai. This particular braai had to be demolished and rebuilt because the original chimney was extremely skew and much too low which caused smoke to fill the room everytime it was used. Furthermore the walls were repainted, the ceilings were replaced, and the floor was retiled. A gorgeous white-washed brick cladding was added to the front and inside of the new braai. New blinds and fly screens were installed on the windows, and a new marble countertop was added next to the new braai.
